HOW DO YOU CUSTOMIZE YOUR SYSTEM TO FIT MY NEEDS?

  • First, we gather usage history from your power bill.

  • Next, we submit that information to our engineers who use the most advanced software available to model the proposed solar array output and your expected electric usage, annually.

  • Finally, your consultant will go over all of the details of the plan, answer your questions, make any adjustments you desire, and will help you through the process to being installed.

HOW DOES THE INSTALLATION PROCESS WORK?

Our energy consultants start with a free energy assessment to help you determine how many solar panels your home will need to run efficiently. This assessment is completely free and doesn't bind you into any contract.

  • We schedule your assessment at a time that is best for you.

  • Our energy consultants will come to your home and evaluate your energy needs based your annual electrical usage and your house's capacity for solar panels.

  • Once we have a clear vision of what your home needs, we will go over options and pricing and answer any questions you might have!

WHAT IS THE COST FOR SOLAR?

The biggest concern for most homeowners when it comes to investing in residential solar power is the cost. Just like no two homes are the same, the cost and savings you experience from solar panels are different from home to home. There are many factors that go into the cost of your solar panels, including:

  • Size of your electrical system

  • Your home's energy needs

  • The model of solar panels you select

  • Whether or not you take advantage of solar tax incentives

Depending on how you choose to incorporate solar power into your home will determine the final cost. However, it's important to understand that although solar panels are an upfront cost, they do lower your monthly electricity bills and allow you to lock in your energy costs fro 20+ years. You will find that the many benefits you receive from solar will far outweigh your initial investment in renewable energy.

Committing to solar energy is also an investment in the future of your environment and your home. By trading in your traditional power source for renewable energy, you are decreasing your carbon emissions and lowering your carbon footprint.

If you need any other reason to switch to solar, there are also tax incentives the federal government offers homeowners that make solar panels much cheaper to install. The Investment Tax Credit offers a 26% Federal Tax Credit.

Ultimately, the easiest way to find out exactly how much solar panels will cost you is to contact Delta Solar Power for your free energy assessment, today!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO GO SOLAR?

Homeowners often ask, "when is the best time to go solar?" The answer, of course, is now!

There's never been an easier or cheaper way to switch to solar. The cost of solar power is much lower now compared to the cost a few years ago. And in Texas, we can install your solar panels at any time of the year. Additionally, the current federal tax credit you'll get from going solar means the sooner you switch to renewable energy, the more money you save. There's never a bad time to go solar!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO INSTALL MY NEW SOLAR POWER SYSTEM ON MY HOME?

Small systems take about 2-3 hours to install, while larger solar panel systems take between 4-6 hours. A Delta Solar Power Representative will work with your schedule for the installation.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I SELL MY HOUSE AFTER INSTALLING SOLAR PANELS?

As you are the owner of the solar panels, ownership of the panels is transferred to the new home owner.

Homes with solar also tend to sell up to four times faster than homes without solar and at a significantly increased price!

WHY DO YOU NEED MY ELECTRICAL USAGE TO DESIGN A SOLAR SYSTEM FOR MY HOUSE?

Your electrical usage is the basis for your energy package design. We first assess how much energy you are currently using, and then determine how to reduce that amount with a custom energy package. We don't want to oversell you on panels that you will not use!

DOES MY SYSTEM WORK IF THE POWER GOES OUT?

That depends; if you also have solar energy storage (solar batteries) then yes, your system will continue to work in the event of a power outage.

For safety reasons, if you lack solar storage then you are susceptible to power outages when the grid looses power. The last thing you want to be doing is sending your excess solar power directly to the grid while the utility company is fixing the power lines.

ARE THERE ANY COSTS FOR MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP ON OUR SOLAR PANELS?

No, there is no need for homeowners to provide maintenance or upkeep to their solar systems. Each system comes with a 25 year warranty. If you feel there is an issue with your solar system, please contact Delta Solar Power immediately.

WHAT IS THE FEDERAL TAX CREDIT (ITC)? HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Federal Tax Credit (ie. ITC= Investment Tax Credit) is a federal law in place until the end of 2023, stating that any solar panel system installed qualifies for a tax credit equal to 26% of the system's purchase price. This credit lowers your tax liability, which in turn, lowers the overall cost of the solar system.

Contact Delta Solar Power at any time for further clarification or questions regarding the federal tax credit. When filling out your taxes, please fill out form 5695 to claim the federal tax credit.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY HOUSE IS GOOD FOR SOLAR?

Houses with South, West, and East facing roofs and minimal tree coverage are the best homes for solar. Houses with North facing roofs can be a viable option depending on the pitch of the roof and the amount of roof space covered in shade.

If your roof is covered with trees, it will be necessary to trim and/or remove large trees to allow for sun light to hit the roof all day. Where shade is present indicates the areas of the roof that will not produce solar electricity for your home.
